Last Sunday, there was a celebration-of-life gathering for my mentor and friend Terry Trotter, a legendary Los Angeles pianist who “graduated” this summer. In attendance were many of the finest jazz musicians, composers and arrangers in the music business. It was an afternoon of wonderful tributes to Terry. I was thrilled to be invited to speak and play at this beautiful event. Rest in peace, Terry; you are loved by many.
